Plan your visit with us
MAVtech is located on Foxton's Avenue Road in the centre of town. You can't miss us- we are the large building with the painted dog listening to the phonograph! There is free parking outside the museum and down the main street of town. All of our displays are indoors so there is no need to worry about the weather when visited MAVtech!
As well as our regular opening hours and monthly film screenings we can open for private tours and screenings for groups of over twenty people ($100 minimum booking, conditions apply). We also welcome enquires from schools and we can tailor our presentations to suit different topics. A typical private visit includes an hour of cartoons and newsreels in our cinema, a tour and demonstrations of our exhibits as well as some self guided time- but we can adjust this to your requirements.
The Coronation Hall was built in 1926 so doesn't have the mobility access of modern buildings. There are some small steps near the entrance to the Hall and a flight of stairs leading to the cinema seating. If a member of your group is booked for a film screening but cannot get to the seating area please let us know and we can arrange seating on the ground floor. Our ground floor exhibits can be acccessed via a wheelchair friendly entrance.
